• Reduced Fat Content: If your dog is active they may require food with higher fat content.
• Less Moisture: Dry, hot climates may require more moisture for your pup when feeding. As age progresses moisture can play an important role in a dogs health.

• Hydration/Water: Some dogs will drink less water than others. For the dogs that do, wet food may be the best option. Wet food has been known to be a good source of hydration at times.
• Rich in Flavor: Very rich in flavor, wet food can help your dog eat. All dogs love a flavored meal. If your pup is having a hard time eating or is feeling ill then wet food may be the way to go.
• Easy to Eat: Dogs with dental problems will be able to eat wet food. The older a dog gets the more problems they will have. If your dog can’t chew because of missing teeth or an unaligned jaw dry food will be difficult to chew. Wet Food could be the food that if given to your pup he may just scruff it down in minutes.
• Higher Protein Content: Known to have more protein content than dry food, this is a great solution for active dogs to help their muscle development.

Cons

• Messy: Your dog can become a messy eater when eating wet food. The rich chicken flavor may allow your dog to eat faster than normal causing a mess to be made.
• Short Shelf Life: Wet food doesn’t have the shelf life that dry food does. After opened it’s shelf life is diminished to a day or two at most. When storing the rest of the opened food place a bag over the can and place in the fridge. Don’t forget to serve it to your dog for the next meal or you might as well throw it away.
• Not as Cost-Effective: Wet food will probably be bought in less amounts than if you were to pick dry food. That same quantity of wet food may be the equivalent cost to dry food which means you would get less for more.
